What is COSPRA?
The Colorado School Public Relations Association (COSPRA) is here to help our members build stronger ties with their local communities through the practice of public relations, and by doing so increase community involvement and support of public education in the state of Colorado.
Who are we?
The majority of our members work in the K-12 system. Many of us are public information officers (PIOs), but our ranks include superintendents, board members and private industry reps who provide services or technologies related to PR, social media, mass communications, marketing, and media relations.
What do we do?
COSPRA provides assistance and training to education professionals whose responsibilities routinely include internal and external communication duties. Our interests also includes public participation practices, particularly when school officials, parents and other members of the public come together to address shared (and frequently controversial) problems and concerns. We strive to sharpen our skills as strategic communicators and strengthen our bonds statewide, sharing best practices and assisting fellow members, especially in difficult moments when our colleagues and communities rely on us most.
